Udaipur is also known as the city of Lakes. Udaipur is a lovely land around the azure water lake, hemmed in by the lush hills of the Aravali. It is located 403 kilometres southwest of the state capital, Jaipur and 250 kilometres northeast from Ahmedabad. Udaipur was the historic capital of the former kingdom of Mewar in Rajputana Agency.
